Serving 3 - Being Sent By God

In Serving 3, we learn the importance of serving God as a regular lifestyle, to draw near to Him daily, not just when we are scheduled to serve. Serving God means that we are not two different types of people before service and after service. Also, serving God is our great honor! We should not complain or demand to be thanked but rather rejoice in every opportunity to serve Him. At the same time, it’s important to remember that following Jesus means to carry our cross—we cannot only expect to be used greatly by God without expecting to share in His suffering. Finally, the type of ministry God wants is the one He calls us to—God is the one who sends the workers. When we are “sent,” we carry a burden from the Lord that will not easily be discouraged, swayed or disheartened by trails and difficulties. God cares very much about molding us into the right vessels; He isn’t in a hurry. Only the right person will carry out the right service.
