O Lord, You have searched me and known me. You know my sitting down and my rising up; You understand my thoughts from afar. You discern my going out and my lying down; You are intimately acquainted with all my ways.

Even before there is a word on my tongue behold, O Lord, You know it completely. You have enclosed me behind and before, and laid Your hand upon me. Such knowledge is too wonderful for me, too lofty for me to attain.

How precious are Your thoughts about me, O God! How great is the sum of them! Were I to count them, they would outnumber the grains of sand— when I awake, I am still with You.
