Am I now seeking the favor of men or of God? Or am I striving to please people? If I were still trying to please people, I would not be a servant of Christ.

How can I know all the sins lurking in my heart? Cleanse me from these hidden faults. Keep your servant from deliberate sins! Don’t let them control me. Then I will be free of guilt and innocent of great sin. (But who can discern their own errors? Forgive my hidden faults. Keep your servant also from willful sins; may they not rule over me. Then I will be blameless, innocent of great transgression.)

The LORD will fight for you; you need only to be still.
