Thy kingdom come.

The kingdom of God certainly comes by itself without prayer, but we pray in this petition that it may come to us also.

Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven.

The good and gracious will of God is done even without our prayer, but we pray in this Petition that it may be done among us also.

Give us this day our daily bread.

God certainly gives daily bread to everyone without our prayers, even to all evil people, but we pray in this Petition that God would lead us to realize this and to recieve our daily bread with thanksgiving.
