要遠離虛假的事

Keep thee far from a false matter; and the innocent and righteous slay thou not: for I will not justify the wicked.

Stay clear of false accusations. Don’t contribute to the death of innocent and good people. I don’t let the wicked off the hook.

A fool hath no delight in understanding, but that his heart may discover itself.

A [self-confident] fool has no delight in understanding but only in revealing his personal opinions and himself.

Fools care nothing for thoughtful discourse; all they do is run off at the mouth

Senseless people find no pleasure in acquiring true wisdom, for all they want to do is impress you with what they know.

Fools have no interest in understanding; they only want to air their own opinions.

不先聆聽就回答的，這就是他的愚妄和羞辱。

Spouting off before listening to the facts is both shameful and foolish.

He who answers a matter before he hears the facts—it is folly and shame to him.

He that answereth a matter before he heareth it, it is folly and shame unto him.

Listen before you speak, for to speak before you’ve heard the facts will bring humiliation.

Answering before listening is both stupid and rude.

愚蒙人凡話都信；精明的人卻步步謹慎。

The simple believeth every word: but the prudent man looketh well to his going.

Only simpletons believe everything they’re told! The prudent carefully consider their steps

The simpleton believes every word he hears, but the prudent man looks and considers well where he is going.

The gullible believe anything they’re told; the prudent sift and weigh every word.

A gullible person will believe anything, but a sensible person will confirm the facts.

嘲笑窮人的就是辱罵造他的主；幸災樂禍的必難免受懲罰。

Whoso mocketh the poor reproacheth his Maker: and he that is glad at calamities shall not be unpunished.

Whoever mocks the poor reproaches his Maker, and he who is glad at calamity shall not be held innocent or go unpunished.

Whoever mocks poor people insults their Creator; gloating over misfortune is a punishable crime.

Mock the poor, will you? You insult your Creator every time you do! If you make fun of others’ misfortune, you’d better watch out—your punishment is on its way.

遮掩別人過犯的，得到人的喜愛；屢次提起別人過錯的，離間親密的朋友。

Love prospers when a fault is forgiven, but dwelling on it separates close friends.

Love overlooks the mistakes of others, but dwelling on the failures of others devastates friendships.

He that covereth a transgression seeketh love; but he that repeateth a matter separateth very friends.

Overlook an offense and bond a friendship; fasten on to a slight and—good-bye, friend!

He who covers and forgives an offense seeks love, but he who repeats or harps on a matter separates even close friends.

良言如同蜂房，使心覺甘甜，使骨得醫治。

Nothing is more appealing than speaking beautiful, life-giving words. For they release sweetness to our souls and inner healing to our spirits.

Pleasant words are as a honeycomb, sweet to the mind and healing to the body.

Gracious speech is like clover honey— good taste to the soul, quick energy for the body.

It is not good to eat much honey; so for men to seek glory, their own glory, causes suffering and is not glory. He who has no rule over his own spirit is like a city that is broken down and without walls.

在最小的事上忠心的，在大事上也忠心；在最小的事上不義的，在大事上也不義。

“The one who manages the little he has been given with faithfulness and integrity will be promoted and trusted with greater responsibilities. But those who cheat with the little they have been given will not be considered trustworthy to receive more.

He who is faithful in a very little [thing] is faithful also in much, and he who is dishonest and unjust in a very little [thing] is dishonest and unjust also in much

He that is faithful in that which is least is faithful also in much: and he that is unjust in the least is unjust also in much.

“If you are faithful in little things, you will be faithful in large ones. But if you are dishonest in little things, you won’t be honest with greater responsibilities.

要快快地聽，慢慢地說，慢慢地動怒。因為人的忿怒並不能成全　神的義。 所以你們應當擺脫一切污穢和所有的邪惡，以溫柔的心領受　神栽種的道；這道能救你們的靈魂。

Let every man be quick to hear [a ready listener], slow to speak, slow to take offense and to get angry. For man’s anger does not promote the righteousness God [wishes and requires]. So get rid of all uncleanness and the rampant outgrowth of wickedness, and in a humble (gentle, modest) spirit receive and welcome the Word which implanted and rooted [in your hearts] contains the power to save your souls.

Be quick to listen, but slow to speak. And be slow to become angry, for human anger is never a legitimate tool to promote God’s righteous purpose. So this is why we abandon everything morally impure and all forms of wicked conduct. Instead, with a sensitive spirit we absorb God’s Word, which has been implanted within our nature, for the Word of Life has power to continually deliver us.

Lead with your ears, follow up with your tongue, and let anger straggle along in the rear. God’s righteousness doesn’t grow from human anger. So throw all spoiled virtue and cancerous evil in the garbage. In simple humility, let our gardener, God, landscape you with the Word, making a salvation-garden of your life.

let every man be swift to hear, slow to speak, slow to wrath: for the wrath of man worketh not the righteousness of God. Wherefore lay apart all filthiness and superfluity of naughtiness, and receive with meekness the engrafted word, which is able to save your souls.

詳細查考那使人得自由的全備律法並且持之以恆的人，不是聽了就忘，而是身體力行，這樣的人必在他所行的事上蒙福。

whoso looketh into the perfect law of liberty, and continueth therein, he being not a forgetful hearer, but a doer of the work, this man shall be blessed in his deed

He who looks carefully into the faultless law, the [law] of liberty, and is faithful to it and perseveres in looking into it, being not a heedless listener who forgets but an active doer [who obeys], he shall be blessed in his doing (his life of obedience).

如果有人自以為虔誠，卻不勒住自己的舌頭，就等於是自己欺騙自己，他的所謂虔誠也毫無價值。 在父上帝看來，純潔無暇的虔誠是指照顧患難中的孤兒寡婦，並且不讓自己被世俗玷污。

Pure religion and undefiled before God and the Father is this, To visit the fatherless and widows in their affliction, and to keep himself unspotted from the world.

If you claim to be religious but don’t control your tongue, you are fooling yourself, and your religion is worthless. Pure and genuine religion in the sight of God the Father means caring for orphans and widows in their distress and refusing to let the world corrupt you.

Anyone who sets himself up as “religious” by talking a good game is self-deceived. This kind of religion is hot air and only hot air. Real religion, the kind that passes muster before God the Father, is this: Reach out to the homeless and loveless in their plight, and guard against corruption from the godless world.

在試煉中能夠忍耐到底的人有福了，因為他若經得起考驗，就會得到主應許賜給愛祂之人的生命冠冕。

Blessed is the man that endureth temptation: for when he is tried, he shall receive the crown of life, which the Lord hath promised to them that love him

Blessed (happy, to be envied) is the man who is patient under trial and stands up under temptation, for when he has stood the test and been approved, he will receive [the victor’s] crown of life which God has promised to those who love Him.

God blesses those who patiently endure testing and temptation. Afterward they will receive the crown of life that God has promised to those who love him.

Anyone who meets a testing challenge head-on and manages to stick it out is mighty fortunate. For such persons loyally in love with God, the reward is life and more life.

三心兩意的人，在他的一切道路上，都搖擺不定。

A double minded man is unstable in all his ways.

[For being as he is] a man of two minds (hesitating, dubious, irresolute), [he is] unstable and unreliable and uncertain about everything [he thinks, feels, decides].

Their loyalty is divided between God and the world, and they are unstable in everything they do.

你們要堅忍到底，使你們纯全、完備、毫無缺欠。

Let patience have her perfect work, that ye may be perfect and entire, wanting nothing.

Let endurance and steadfastness and patience have full play and do a thorough work, so that you may be [people] perfectly and fully developed [with no defects], lacking in nothing.

When tests and challenges come at you from all sides. You know that under pressure, your faith-life is forced into the open and shows its true colors. So don’t try to get out of anything prematurely. Let it do its work so you become mature and well-developed, not deficient in any way.

總而言之，就是要敬畏上帝，遵守祂的誡命，這是人的本分。 因為人一切的行為，無論善惡，包括一切隱秘事，上帝都必審問。

All has been heard; the end of the matter is: Fear God [revere and worship Him, knowing that He is] and keep His commandments, for this is the whole of man [the full, original purpose of his creation, the object of God’s providence, the root of character, the foundation of all happiness, the adjustment to all inharmonious circumstances and conditions under the sun] and the whole [duty] for every man. For God shall bring every work into judgment, with every secret thing, whether it is good or evil.

The last and final word is this: Fear God. Do what he tells you. And that’s it. Eventually God will bring everything that we do out into the open and judge it according to its hidden intent, whether it’s good or evil

Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter: Fear God, and keep his commandments: for this is the whole duty of man. For God shall bring every work into judgment, with every secret thing, whether it be good, or whether it be evil.

世人哪！耶和華已經指示你甚麼是善， 他向你所要的又是甚麼； 無非是要你行公義，好憐憫， 謙虛謹慎與你的　神同行。

O people, the Lord has told you what is good, and this is what he requires of you: to do what is right, to love mercy, and to walk humbly with your God.

But he’s already made it plain how to live, what to do, what God is looking for in men and women. It’s quite simple: Do what is fair and just to your neighbor, be compassionate and loyal in your love, And don’t take yourself too seriously— take God seriously.

He has showed you, O man, what is good. And what does the Lord require of you but to do justly, and to love kindness and mercy, and to humble yourself and walk humbly with your God?
