But the Advocate will teach you everything and will remind you of everything I have said. This Helper is the Holy Spirit whom the Father will send in my name.

And I will put my Spirit in you and move you to follow my decrees and be careful to keep my laws.

If you then, who are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to those who ask him!

In the same way, the Holy Spirit helps us in our weakness. We do not know what we ought to pray for, but the Spirit Himself intercedes for us with groanings that cannot be expressed in words.

But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.

And everyone present was filled with the Holy Spirit and began speaking in other languages, as the Holy Spirit gave them this ability.

Let the Holy Spirit guide your lives. Then you won’t gratify your sinful nature.

But when you are directed by the Holy Spirit, you are not under the law.

The wrong things of the sinful nature are obvious: committing sexual sin, filthy thoughts, and doing shameful things.

They worship idols, practice witchcraft; hate others, and are hard to get along with. They become jealous, angry or selfish. They cause people to argue and divide into separate groups.

They are envious. They get drunk, carry on at wild parties, and do other evil things as well. I warn you now as I warned you before: The people who do these things will not share in the blessings of God’s kingdom.

But the Holy Spirit produces this kind of fruit in our lives: love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control. There is no law against these things.

Let the Spirit renew your thoughts and attitudes.

Be angry but don’t sin by letting anger control you. Don’t let the sun go down while you are still angry. Don’t stay angry. Don’t go to bed angry.

Don’t give the devil a foothold in your life.
